project of the month - pocket reference cards

March 1, 2008

wow…i really love this one!  hp has provided the ability to make your own VERY COOL business/personal cards (i made up cards to give to friends with my contact information on it).  i’m always out and about somewhere and run into someone i haven’t seen in a long time and we are always trying to find something to write our information on so i thought i’d just make up cards to hand out.  another added bonus to this is that you can customize what the back of the card can have on it (ex. tip table, calendar, measurement conversions, and even appointment times which is great for a professional to make their cards on).  i thought of my friend amber immediately who is an esthetician and makes appointments regularly, but doesn’t have a reminder card to give out.  if you are going to make it a personal info card like i did, i just used a very heavy cardstock and a sharp paper cutter *free to use at kinko’s*  they print out 10/sheet!

project of the month/valentines day mix tape suggestion

February 1, 2008

for this month’s project i have also combined it with my (now 4th annual) “mix tape valentine’s day gift.”  last year i received SO much positive feedback from people who made this for their significant others.  for those of you who don’t know…every year i make a “suggested” list of love songs to put on a mix cd to give as a valentine’s day gift.  last year i asked my fellow seo/internet marketers what their favorite loves songs were.  you can also just put on the cd songs that remind you of that person or “your songs” as your relationship has grown.

so as the project of the month, i found SUCH a cool thing on hp called cd/dvd tattoos!  there are so many templates already created for you and all you have to do is insert cute photos of the two of you together and put a sweet quote or poem on the cd cover itself.  how awesome are those?!  if you feel like going the extra mile with this, you can also make a matching cd/dvd sleeve to put the cd inside.  he/she is bound to love you forever just for the thought let alone the amazing cd cover!  (good thing is it’s a fast and simple give that will make a huge impact!)

project of the month - photo calendar

December 1, 2007

this month’s project is inspired by the new year coming upon us and that means we’ll all have to get new calendars!  why not make it personal and add pictures to it?  i’ve found a few sites that offer some very unique and creative calendars available to make!  you could also use this as an opportunity to make a special christmas present for someone or everyone in your family!  keep in mind i have found that a lot of the links below offer discounts for multipe calendar purchases!

project of the month - holiday photo greeting cards

November 1, 2007

since the holidays are quickly coming upon us, it’s time to start getting those photo greeting cards made and mailed out!  here’s an quick and easy way to make your own without having to wait for the printer to make them!  another unique idea i saw for these was a wedding that i went to the bride and groom made a sign that said “thank you” on it and held it up and had their picture taken with it.  they used these cards as their thank you’s with the picture they took with the sign!

project of the month - custom recipe cards

September 20, 2007

this month i chose the custom recipe cards as my project of the month.  this is something i’ve been using for a very long time now, and i already have a recipe book filled up.  i really like this because you can add a photo of what the recipe is for and add it right to the recipe card.  i plan on making a custom recipe book with my own recipes i have made myself to give as gifts.
