i have to admit, i had probably the best weeks in a long damn time. spent time with an amazing guy, shared quality time with my family, spent a lot of time with my friends, saw old friends from high school, made new friends, and watched the bears win! i’m so glad that school is almost over for the semester. i have an appointment to get next semester setup on wednesday, so hopefully that will be done by the end of the week and i don’t have to worry about it anymore. i find out friday what my test scores are from the state boards i took almost a month ago now.
random thought: why does a bag of ice cost as much as a 12 pack of diet mt dew?
quote of the day -
mom: “maybe you just need to lick it and stick it”
dad: “that’s what she said” (sly giggle)
i don’t know why or how i got there but last night i ended up at darren rowse’s site digital photography school. such a great site for anyone who enjoys taking photos. new addiction alert! i should have joined that a long time ago. i’m excited to enter my photos in the weekly assignments they started.
i’m going to oregon in 2 weeks to go snowboarding on mt hood with my friend eli and i bought my snow bunny outfit this weekend (coat, snowpants, hat, goggles). i’ve never snowboarded before, so this should be interesting, i have been skiing though. eli got a cabin and his friends and family will be there..great, more people to see me barely moving after my first day on the slopes from the pain in my legs hahah
I’ve been working hard lately on my newest site, Quad City Nightlife which shows our local area’s drink specials everyday. Eventually the site will be more interactive, with video reviews @ bars and music listings. I was out talking to bar owners this weekend and they are really receptive!
went to chicago on friday night, nice dinner, awesome blues club, amazing hotel suite! saturday night tended to about 100 chicago police officers in my bar who were in town to support barak obama and had a crazy bar tab so it was an interesting night! sunday i pretty much did nothing and relaxed on the couch and watched the bears win and flip back and forth watching different football games.
woke up early this morning, got ready for my math class, left about 8:30am and arrived to an empty parking lot and locked doors. no school. shit. i forgot. i could have slept in! get home, snuggle on my bed with mikey, fall asleep. 4 hours later i wake up. oops
i’m looking forward to going up to meet some new friends in chicago at the end of the month from #uf (cm, tobs, darf, crypt, ed, eli, chris, jon) and maybe see some old friends as well while i am there. if anyone else wants to hang in chi-town with the cool kids let me know!
one month left of this school semester then i have 3 weeks off for christmas break before starting back at western illinois university. what to do…what to do…
“dick masterson” from menarebetterthanwomen.com was on dr. phil the other day and i seriously thought that he looked a lot like dax! could it be true? what do you think!? i hung out with dax in new york and i’m having a hard time believing it could be him but he could just be a really good actor with a viral idea! unfortunately, the site couldn’t handle the traffic and was down for i think a few hours..
checking out my youtube vids today and i noticed that a video that i put up a year ago from a king of the cage match i went to that shows pat militech and renzo gracie after their fight which i had no idea would be viewd 32,000 TIMES! it’s funny reading the comments, people think i put this up for their entertainment then get pissed that it’s not something super fabulous!
Today is my mom’s birthday! Joyce-ee-poo would absolutely kill me if she knew I’m putting this picture up on the net lol This picture was taken at my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party!
Anyway, my mom is the most fabulous, adorable, kind, caring, loving, sensitive, giving, tolerating, and did I mention fabulous person in the entire world. She is my best friend and I would absolutely die without her in my life.
My mom is a very special person. She is a retired high school English teacher who is now a volunteer for the Red Cross and trains new members and teaches classes. She has also recently taken a new consulting job for our school district to work with teachers to increase test scores. She has received many many awards in her lifetime including “Most Inspirational Teacher” voted by students at Western IL University (2 TIMES!). It doesn’t matter where we go together, there is always a past student who gives her a hug and tells her how much she influenced their life.
Happy Birthday Mom, you’re my best friend, hero and rockstar!
since the holidays are quickly coming upon us, it’s time to start getting those photo greeting cards made and mailed out! here’s an quick and easy way to make your own without having to wait for the printer to make them! another unique idea i saw for these was a wedding that i went to the bride and groom made a sign that said “thank you” on it and held it up and had their picture taken with it. they used these cards as their thank you’s with the picture they took with the sign!
