this semester in the ungodly long journey of my college career towards becoming a teacher, i decided to take my classes online after changing schools and finding out that all of the classes i need to take were offered online. this semester i have 5 classes - math for elementary teachers II, biology, technology in the classroom, developmental psychology II, and geography. before i started i was wondering how biology was going to work since it includes a lab, but it has been cool because the labs are just written assignments. pretty much all of my professors have posted everything online for the entire semester, so in 2 of my classes i have almost completed the semester in just the first two weeks. excellent! i think biology is going to be the tough on this semester because it’s something that i really have no interest and i’ve never been good at science and math. i’ll be attending western illinois university next semester, and i’ve really focused lately on what i want to accomplish there. i’ve been doing the elementary education stuff, but i have also decided to get endorsements for secondary education as well as minor in home economics so i can teach cooking and sewing etc. that is really what i love to do so why not?
i was SOOO excited to see what britney was going to do at the vma’s tonight! as the extreme disappointment continued all i could think to myself was…”oh this is just an opener, she’ll bust out any minute now and blow it up!” i sat there in a daze and i couldn’t believe what i was seeing happen. a dull faced wtf am i doing here britney spears performing barely moving her body on stage. however….i think she looked great, with a little weight on her body she still looked extremely sexy (except for her bad extensions). i’m still holding on…it’s gonna take a hell of a lot now for her to make her “comeback” for most people, but i love her new music and it’s fun to dance to so whatever!
also…what was with the “awards” show only giving away like 4 awards?! i got really tired of watching the foo fighters and the other “suite concert” things….how pissed would you have been to be sitting in the theater while they were doing all of that? what a sucky vma awards show! too bad we didn’t get to see the kid rock/tommy lee fight!!! jt rocked it like usual.
i appreciate the help of a friend for hosting planetandrea.com for a while for me, but then one day i learned that the error message on the page was “site down due to non-payment” i figured it was time that i hosted it myself! once i got the domain transferred i was having troubles getting the tables setup correctly, so i really wanted to thank the guys from #uf for helping me (tobsn, mwattier, darfur, engaged). without you guys fixing it for me this site would probably have never made it back and i’d be on another domain…so thanks!
well the first annual WhereIFish.com muddy mississippi fishing tournament this weekend was a huge success! i do have some bragging rights from here on out…a team of me and three friends took the journey on my dad’s fishing boat (me driving ahhhh!) on the big mississippi river to fish for channel catfish. the tournament rules were that the catfish had to 1. be alive 2. be at least 14 inches. i think we had a total of 6 fishing poles in the boat and i was using three of them. we went out into the water around 7:20am saturday morning and fished until noon (pee break). within that time, i mangaged to catch 4 catfish, and one that was good enough to be entered into the tournament. nobody else had caught anything. we go back into the marina (nearly getting stuck on a sandbar on the way back in) and grab a quick bite to eat. word on the street is that i have caught the only usable fish so far in the tournament! go me! we head back out into the river and find a spot nearby where we were earlier. no later than 1 minute from the time i cast out my line i get another bite! that makes 5 fish for me. teammates 0. i jokingly remarked to my friends that i was tired of catching fish and was going to give it up for the day when all of the sudden one of my other poles jerk down really quickly! another one. oh man now i feel like a jerk hahahah we ended up getting 6 fish as a team (thanks to me!) but only one that could be entered. lets just say i was in first place for about 10 minutes……until the rest of the teams came in and i was soon shut down!
this afternoon i’m heading out to rock creek state park in clinton, ia for the WhereIFish.com catfish tournament/camping weekend. the tournament starts tomorrow morning and tonight everyone is meeting there for a big cookout and campfire.
